Lewis Kasner to Serve as President of Texas Exes Houston Chapter

Jackson Walker partner Lewis Kasner was recently selected to serve as president of the Texas Exes Houston Chapter for a one-year term beginning July 1, 2018.

Founded in 1885, Texas Exes helps alumni and friends stay connected to The University of Texas at Austin. The Texas Exes Houston Chapter is a volunteer-led organization responsible for dozens of Houston-area alumni events a year and for hosting fundraising efforts for its scholarships fund. Each year, the chapter awards over $100,000 worth of scholarships to Houston-area high school seniors to attend The University of Texas at Austin. For more information, visit the Texas Exes website.

As president, Lewis is responsible for the general direction of the affairs of the Texas Exes Houston Chapter, presides at board and council meetings, and acts as the ex-officio member of all committees.

Meet Lewis

Houston partner Lewis S. Kasner focuses his practice on commercial real estate transactions and financing and has developed a reputation for his excellent guidance and practical solutions through the transaction process. Lewis works with both lenders and developers in connection with their real estate and financing needs. As Lender’s counsel, he regularly represents financial institutions in documenting interim and permanent loan transactions ranging from $1 million to in excess of $100 million. As a developer’s attorney, he assists with the acquisition, disposition, leasing, and financing of commercial real estate projects. Lewis is Board Certified in Commercial Real Estate by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been recognized among Thomson Reuters’ “Rising Stars” and “Super Lawyers” lists since 2013. Lewis served as the Chair of the Houston Bar Association Real Estate Section from 2017-2018. He has been a board member of the Texas Exes Houston Chapter since 2011.
