Lonnie Schooler Chairs Texas Chapter of North American Branch of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators

Jackson Walker is pleased to congratulate Houston partner Lionel M. Schooler on his selection as the incoming Chair of the Texas Chapter of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators North American Branch (CIArb). Formed in May 2007, the Texas Chapter comprises all members located in the state of Texas. He has been a member since 2010.

With more than 15,000 members worldwide, the CIArb exists for the global promotion, assistance, and development of all forms of private dispute resolution. In addition to training arbitrators, mediators, and adjudicators, the CIArb is an international center for practitioners, policy makers, academics, and those in business concerned with the cost-effective and early settlement of disputes. Lonnie SchoolerLonnie Schooler is a management-side employment lawyer and recognized authority on employment law, federal appellate practice, and arbitration. Lonnie’s employment practice focuses on counseling clients and litigating, on a nationwide basis, claims under all employment laws, wage and hour claims under the FLSA, and investigations by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the Texas Workforce Commission.

Lonnie also serves as an arbitrator on the Commercial and Employment Panels of the American Arbitration Association and as an advocate. He was selected for inclusion by the National Association of Distinguished Neutrals and is certified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators for international arbitration matters.

Since 2017, Lonnie has served on the Board of Directors of the Houston Bar Association. He currently serves on the Editorial Board of Dispute Resolution Magazine, the publication of the American Bar Association’s Section of Dispute Resolution.
