Julia MannJackson Walker congratulates Julia W. Mann, managing partner of the San Antonio office, on her invitation to join YPO, the world’s largest leadership community of chief executives.

Founded in 1950, YPO has over 30,000 members across 142 countries. With diversity and inclusion being a key initiative, YPO recently launched “Athena,” a three-year pilot program, to help chapters increase gender diversity and ensure an inclusive environment for female members. To be invited to membership, Athena applicants must be female under the age of 55 and hold the title of president, CEO, board chairperson, managing director, managing partner, or an equivalent title of a company which meets certain financial criteria.

“Joining YPO is a great opportunity to connect with and learn from fellow leaders on a local, regional and even international basis,” Julia stated. “The connections and learning opportunities will assist in finding new ways I can grow our San Antonio office and be a better leader.”

In 2019, Julia was appointed the managing partner of our San Antonio office, making her the first woman to hold that position since the office opened in 1991, and the second woman to serve as an office managing partner in the Firm’s 134-year history. Since her appointment, she has led the office during one of the Firm’s best financial years ever—and through an unprecedented global pandemic that transformed the business world. Beyond her role as managing partner, Julia serves on the Firm’s Management, Compensation, Recruiting, and Statewide Business Development committees. For several years, she also led the Jackson Walker Women (JW2) initiative in San Antonio, implementing programs to help women attorneys build strong networks and sustain successful careers.

In recognition of her leadership, Julia has been honored with a Women’s Leadership Award by San Antonio Business Journal (2021), a Top Women Lawyer Award by Texas Diversity Council (2021), and was named among “San Antonio’s Outstanding Women in Law” by San Antonio Scene (2021). In 2022, she was named to the “Top 50: Women Super Lawyers” and “Top 50: Central/West Texas Super Lawyers” list.

Within the San Antonio community, Julia has volunteered with local organizations as the Zoo Ball Sponsorship Chair, a Vice Chairman of the American Cancer Society South Texas chapter, a past president of the San Antonio Rose Chapter of National Charity League, a member of the Founder’s Council of the Texas Biomedical Research Institute, a member of the Leadership San Antonio Class of 2011, a former Board Member of the Bexar County Women’s Bar Association, a Nominating Committee member of the San Antonio Bar Association, and the former president of the William S. Sessions American Inns of Court.
