Cale McDowell Elected Board Chairman of University Federal Credit Union

Jackson Walker partner Cale McDowell has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Federal Credit Union (UFCU), effective April 5, 2021. Cale has previously served as Vice Chairman of the Board, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee, and Chairman of the Asset/Liability Management and Budget Committee, among other roles.

As a member-owned, nonprofit financial cooperative, University Federal Credit Union has served its members since 1936. With more than 330,000 members and total assets (serviced and under management) exceeding $7.3 billion, UFCU offers a variety of products, services and educational programs to empower members in achieving financial health. In 2020, UFCU was for the fifth consecutive year named Austin’s top mortgage lender, with over 3,200 mortgages closed in the prior year and loan volume exceeding $991 million.

In his practice, Cale represents public and private companies, investor groups, and investment fund sponsors in a broad array of engagements, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, the structuring and formation of investment funds, joint ventures, and other entities, offerings of debt and equity securities, and general corporate governance, securities, and transactional matters. His clients include private equity funds, private real estate investment funds, public and private real estate investment trusts, hedge funds, and family offices.
