As downtown Houston property owners work to attract retail shoppers amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Jackson Walker client Brookfield Properties has negotiated a lease to bring Puttshack, an indoor mini-golf entertainment venue, to The Shops at Houston Center. With the venue expected to open in late 2022, Brookfield Properties hopes to draw in Houstonians to the three-level retail destination with a newly renovated and transformed dining and entertainment experience.

“The addition of Puttshack marks the first step in reimagining The Shops at Houston Center,” said Jackson Walker partner Michael Kuhn, who negotiated the terms of the 26,000-square-foot lease as counsel to Brookfield Properties. “Building on Puttshack’s approach to elevating mini-golf, Brookfield Properties will be able to reinvigorate the complex and bring in new and different businesses that people want to experience.”

Travis Overall, Executive Vice President and Head of the Texas Region for Brookfield Properties, told Realty News Report, “Puttshack is a great new concept, and as we continue to reimagine our iconic Houston Center, we are pleased to plan for this tech-infused entertainment experience.”
