Bob Latham Re-Elected to World Rugby’s Executive and Regulations Committees

Jackson Walker congratulates Bob Latham on his re-election to another four-year term on the World Rugby Executive Committee, on which he has served as a member since 2011. In addition, Bob was reconfirmed as Chair of the Regulations Committee, a position he has held since 2012.

Based in Dublin, World Rugby is the international federation for rugby and is run by a 51-member Council, which sits in May and November each year. The Council elects nine of its members to be on the Executive Committee and, in addition to Bob, those members come from England, Scotland, Wales, France, New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, and Tunisia. Bob is the second-longest serving member of the Executive Committee.

Robert P. Latham has developed nationally recognized experience in the areas of media law and intellectual property litigation and chairs both practice areas at Jackson Walker. In recognition of his practice, Bob has been listed among The Best Lawyers in America under Commercial Litigation, Litigation – First Amendment, Litigation – Intellectual Property, and Sports Law among other categories, and he was named Dallas/Fort Worth’s “Lawyer of the Year” for Sports Law in Best Lawyers’ 2021 edition.

In addition to his work with World Rugby, Bob serves on the International Board of ARTICLE 19, the Board of Directors of the Dallas All Sports Association, and the Governance Committee of the American Bar Association Forum on Communications Law. He is also a former president of the Media Law Resource Center Defense Counsel Section.
