Jackson Walker announces the addition of G. Scott Fiddler as a partner in the Houston office. Scott brings to our Chambers USA-ranked Labor & Employment, Employee Benefits, & Executive Compensation practice nearly 30 years of experience representing clients in commercial litigation, wrongful termination, wage and hour law, discrimination, non-competition agreements, and other general labor and employment law.
Board certified in Labor and Employment Law and Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Scott concentrates his practice on employment law litigation, representing employers in wrongful termination, wage and hour, and non-compete disputes and executives in severance negotiation and employment agreement litigation. Throughout his career, Scott has represented clients before the Texas Supreme Court, the U.S. Supreme Court, the Federal and Fifth Circuit Courts of Appeals, the Texas Eastern and Western District Courts, and the U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts of the Southern District of Texas.
“As one of approximately 25 attorneys around Texas with board certifications in both Labor and Employment Law and Civil Trial Law, Scott brings a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge with him,” Houston Managing Partner Kurt D. Nondorf said.
Prior to joining Jackson Walker, Scott was the founding attorney of a boutique law firm that represented small businesses, employers, and executives in litigation in state and federal courts in employment and commercial litigation.
“Transitioning from managing my own firm to joining a firm with the resources of Jackson Walker is a nice change,” Scott said. “This move is a great opportunity to focus my attention on serving my clients rather than the day-to-day duties of running a law firm,” he said.

In his career, Scott has garnered regional and national recognition as a leader in his field, having served as a chair of the Houston Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Law Section and president of the National Employment Lawyers Association’s Houston chapter. He has also been profiled in Forbes magazine and Newsweek.
In 2008, he was elected a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, which welcomes only one-third of one percent of State Bar members to fellowship each year. Super Lawyers has selected Scott among the top rated employment & labor attorneys in Houston every year since 2007. In 2012, he was named to Super Lawyers’ “Top 100: Houston Super Lawyers” list.
In addition to his practice, Scott serves on the Labor & Employment Law Exam Commission of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and the Board of Directors of the Texas Association of Civil Trial and Appellate Specialists.
He received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center and his B.A. from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Also joining the Houston labor and employment group is staff attorney Jessica R. Lara. Prior to working with Scott at the boutique law firm, Lara was an Assistant County Attorney at the Harris County Attorney’s Office. She graduated with her J.D. from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law, where she served on the Editing Committee of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law Journal of Gender, Race & Justice.
