Jackson Walker partner Justin Shipley has been invited to serve as a Director of The Texas Lyceum, a nonprofit that cultivates the next generation of Texas leaders by engaging in meetings and conversations that study the issues facing the people and places of Texas. As a Director, Justin will participate in conferences that confront a variety of topics, such as technology innovation, global relations, infrastructure, and Texas industry.

The nonpartisan group is limited to a diverse group of 96 individuals from around Texas who have established leadership among their communities and professions.

Alumni of the Texas Lyceum include President George W. Bush, Senators Ted Cruz and Kay Bailey Hutchison, U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings, multiple U.S. congressmen, Governors Rick Perry and Greg Abbott, U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Don Willett and dozens of mayors of large and small communities across Texas.

Meet Justin

Justin Shipley is a partner in the Finance & Banking practice at Jackson Walker. He advises financial institutions and borrowers on a wide range of complex commercial finance and real estate transactions. He has broad experience representing lenders in connection with syndicated credit facilities, construction loans, multi-state real property portfolio loans, developments involving Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), and private equity financing. He also serves private equity and other clients as their outside general counsel. Since 2022, Justin has been recognized among The Best Lawyers in America for Banking and Finance Law. Outside of his practice, Justin serves as the 2025-2026 Chair of the Board of Directors of the Dallas Zoo and as a member of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas.
