Jackson Walker is delighted to announce the addition of partners Sarah Christian and Kathryn Nordick to our Austin office. Sarah and Kathryn bring a tremendous wealth of experience in debt financings, providing representation to local, regional, and national banks, private lenders and borrowers including private equity firms and their portfolio companies, and public and private companies.

Since joining the firm, Sarah and Kathryn have completed numerous transactions including representing Surge Private Equity in a successful refinancing of debt for its Amuze platform in partnership with Whitehorse Capital, and representing Woodforest National Bank, as administrative agent, sustainability agent, and lender in connection with a $75 million syndicated credit facility for affiliated fiber internet service providers, Novos Fiber and Prime Fiber.

Meet Sarah

Sarah Christian

Sarah has a wealth of experience in representing banks, agents, financial institutions, private lenders and borrowers in syndicated and bilateral credit facilities, including revolving and term loans, letter of credit facilities, asset-based lending, working capital lines and acquisition finance.  Sarah also has experience with property-assessed clean energy (PACE) financing, tax credit monetization, and derivatives transactions.

Her experience spans diverse industries, including technology, media and telecommunications, solar, wind and other renewable energies, aircraft, healthcare, hospitality, food service, and retail.  Additionally, Sarah has closed over one billion dollars in green loan financings.

Sarah was recognized by Super Lawyers as a “Texas Rising Star” and by Austin Monthly Magazine as a top finance attorney for the past three years.  Sarah was also recognized as a 2025 Lawdragon 500 Leading Dealmaker.

Sarah received her B.Acy and M.Tax from Mississippi State University and her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.

Meet Kathryn

Kathryn NordickKathryn has almost 20 years of experience representing financial institutions and corporate borrowers in complex, high-value transactions across a wide range of industries and jurisdictions.

Kathryn guides corporate borrowers, private equity sponsors, and financial institutions through intricate secured transactions. Her extensive experience includes acquisition financings, syndicated and bilateral credit facilities, mezzanine and second lien financing transactions, workouts, and cross-border transactions.

Throughout her career, Kathryn has been recognized for her proactive and client-focused approach. She has been recognized by Chambers USA in the area of Banking & Finance and by The Legal 500 United States for Finance: Commercial Lending. Kathryn was also recognized as a 2025 Lawdragon 500 Leading Dealmaker.

On her decision to join the firm, Kathryn stated, “I am thrilled to join Jackson Walker and look forward to contributing to the firm’s tradition of excellence. Kathryn received her B.A. from Austin College, her M.H.A. from Texas Woman’s University, and her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
