Sarah Starr

Biography

Sarah Starr is an attorney in the Trial & Appellate Litigation section of Jackson Walker’s Dallas office. Sarah has experience defending media clients against defamation claims and has helped author amicus briefs in media and First Amendment matters in the Fifth Circuit.

Sarah has also handled a variety of non-media litigation matters, including business torts and complex contractual disputes, and recently assisted a team in defending a client against a series of contract and anti-competition claims worth multiple millions of dollars.

Sarah received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin before graduating magna cum laude from SMU Dedman School of Law in 2022. While in law school, Sarah was an active member of the SMU Law Review Association and served as the Associate Managing Editor for the SMU Annual Texas Survey. She also worked as a constitutional law research assistant to Professor Dale Carpenter and served as a judicial extern to U.S. District Court Judge Sean D. Jordan for the Eastern District of Texas, where she gained a unique perspective on how to best frame an issue and achieve a favorable outcome.
