Jackson Walker Announces the Election of Seven New Partners

Jackson Walker announces the election of the following to the partnership: Michael Baldwin of the Austin office, Ryan Chadwick of the Houston office, Colter Harris of the Dallas office, C. Elaine Howard of the Houston office, Sean Jordan of the Austin office, Tom Lipovski of the Austin office, and David Rex of the Richardson office.

Michael J. Baldwin is a member of the Tax section. Mr. Baldwin is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He practices in the area of Advanced Estate and Business Planning with an emphasis on the tax-planning aspect of each individual transaction. Mr. Baldwin has extensive experience in the areas of family wealth transfer including the design, drafting, and implementation of wills (both complex and simple), trusts, family partnerships, and charitable entities. Mr. Baldwin earned his B.A. degree from Baylor University and his J.D. degree from Louisiana State University. He also continued his education at University of Denver earning his LL.M. degree in Taxation.

Ryan Chadwick is a member of the Litigation section. His practice includes litigation in the following areas: premises liability, products liability, personal injury, technology, software, securities fraud, commercial, and lender liability litigation. Mr. Chadwick also has substantial experience in appellate practice. Mr. Chadwick received both his B.A. degree in philosophy and his J.D. degree from the University of Houston.

Colter Harris is a member of the Business Transactions section. He has represented various financial institutions in all types of transactions as well as corporate clients in transactions ranging from general corporate representation to mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Harris received his B.A. degree in Economics from the University of Texas and his J.D. degree from Louisiana State University.

C. Elaine Howard is a member of the Litigation section. Her practice is focused on commercial litigation, including real estate disputes, contract disputes, commercial fraud and media law. In the real estate context, Ms. Howard has handled numerous cases involving leases, construction disputes, liens, title defects, architectural or engineering negligence, and easements. She has also handled several class action matters, appeals in state and federal court, and has significant experience in federal and state courts in numerous jurisdictions. Ms. Howard received her B.A. degree from Rice University in Economics, Political Science and Managerial Studies and her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Houston, where she served as Articles Editor for the Houston Law Review.

Sean D. Jordan is a member of the Litigation section. Mr. Jordan’s practice includes complex commercial and personal injury defense litigation. Mr. Jordan earned his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from University of Texas at Austin and his J.D. degree, with honors, from University of Texas School of Law.

Thomas M. Lipovski is a member of the Labor and Employment section. His practice consists primarily of representing clients in employment and labor law litigation and counseling. Mr. Lipovski received his B.B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Texas.

David C. Rex is a member of the Business Transactions section and has a diverse background in domestic and international corporate, securities, banking, and related tax law matters, both as general counsel and in private practice. Mr. Rex received both his B.B.A. degree and his J.D. degree from the University of Oklahoma. He also earned a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Miami Law School.
