The volume of cross-border transactions has never been higher. The second half of 2020 saw the biggest half-year jump on record in cross-border M&A compared with the first half of the year. With a surplus of accumulated capital beginning to be deployed worldwide, demands to address deal-related compliance risks are likely to increase.

Corporate counsel plays a key role in addressing concerns about national security, corruption, money laundering, technology transfers, and economic sanctions. As their cross-border businesses grow, they are challenged to ensure compliance with anti-bribery, anti-corruption, anti-money-laundering, and anti-boycott statutes, conform to sanctions regimes and customs, export and import controls, and concurrently mitigate fraud risks and control deal-related costs.

This Globalaw webinar will help clients identify business and legal risks in cross-border transactions, understand best practices in pre-transaction due diligence and post-transaction compliance, and effectively conduct an internal investigation or defend and manage a government investigation.

Speakers will include:

  • Jonathan Osborne, Gunster (Moderator)
  • Milton Vescovacci, Gunster
  • Robert Soza, Jr., Jackson Walker
  • Nathan Hill, Gunster
  • Bernardo Viana, Almeida Advogados
