Tyler specializes in land use and economic development, focusing on various aspects such as zoning, historic preservation, exactions, tax abatements, municipal incentives for corporate relocations, tax increment financing, and public improvement districts.

Tyler has served as legal counsel to Fort Worth City Council, city management and staff, and various city boards and commissions, including the Zoning Commission, Boards of Adjustment, Historic and Cultural Landmarks Commission, and Board of Directors for various Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones.

Prior to joining Jackson Walker, Tyler had a 14-year tenure as an Assistant City Attorney at the City of Fort Worth. Outside his practice, Tyler serves as the primary legal counsel for several boards and commissions, including the Board of Directors for several Tax Increment Financing Districts, Alliance Airport Authority, Inc., FW Sports Authority, Inc., and the Park and Recreation Advisory Board.
Tyler received his B.S., cum laude, from Texas Christian University and his J.D., magna cum laude, from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, now Texas A&M School of Law.
