Jackson Walker Represents Trammell Crow Company in Landmark Transit-Oriented Development at Mockingbird Station

February 10, 2026 | Client Results

Jackson Walker is pleased to announce its representation of Trammell Crow Company in connection with the transformative, multi‑phase transit‑oriented development (TOD) at Mockingbird Station in Dallas, Texas. The project, delivered in partnership with Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) and the City of Dallas, marks one of the region’s most ambitious community‑shaping developments, positioned at the crossroads of mobility, mixed‑use growth, and urban reinvestment.

Spanning 16 acres, the site has been restructured into a newly created horizontal condominium regime, integrating the existing DART station and related transit facilities as a dedicated condominium unit. This innovative legal and development model underpins the long‑term buildout of the Mockingbird Station district and sets the stage for five distinct development phases.

Legal work on the project began in 2019, with Jackson Walker leading all major real estate components through closing in late December 2025. Jackson Walker served as lead counsel to Trammell Crow on all aspects of the TOD’s legal structure and transactional frameworks, including the development agreements with DART and the City of Dallas, the ground leases for the development tracts, infrastructure and site-development matters, and the horizontal condominium structure governing the 16‑acre site.

The Jackson Walker team was co-led by Bryan Birkeland and Anabelle Copeland, with key contributions from Bill Dahlstrom, Victoria Morris, and Abby Wilkinson.

For more information about the development, see the press release and articles by The Dallas Morning News, D Magazine, Dallas Business Journal, Mass Transit, and CoStar.
