Jackson Walker attorney Amanda Crouch has been selected to receive the Belva Lockwood Outstanding Young Lawyer Award from the Bexar County Women’s Bar Foundation. The award recognizes women attorneys who embody the characteristics of its namesake, Belva Lockwood, an attorney known for her activism for women’s rights.

Each year, recipients are chosen based on contributions to the legal profession, work undertaken to improve the status of the legal profession, and contributions to the community in the form of charitable and volunteer work. Nominees are also evaluated based on experience, reputation, and standing in the legal community. The Belva Lockwood Award is given to an attorney who has been in practice for fewer than seven years.

The award underscores Amanda’s notable success in just four years of practice. Amanda, who is an associate in Jackson Walker’s litigation section, received her J.D. from Baylor University School of Law where she served as Student Bar Association President, Managing Senior Executive Editor for the Baylor Law Review and as a Research Assistant for Baylor University President Ken Starr. As a commercial litigator, she has represented clients in a diverse range of matters in the environmental, oil and gas, and financial industries. She has also represented creditors and defended clients against personal injury claims.

Amanda’s ability to help secure favorable outcomes for clients stems from her creative approach. She takes the time to understand each client’s business goals and works to create solutions that help accomplish them. She emphasizes efficiency in her practice and is frequently able to obtain a cost-effective resolution that fully achieves the clients’ business goals. Amanda works tirelessly for her clients and sees her role as a partner with her clients in reaching their business goals.

Amanda also dedicates a considerable amount of time and energy to civic and professional organizations. She is the founder and past president of the Hemisfair Coalition which provides financial and advocacy support for the redevelopment of Hemisfair in San Antonio. Amanda also serves on the Board of Directors of the North East Educational Foundation and the Board of Directors for the Junior League of San Antonio.

In addition, Amanda is a member of the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association and is a past president of Defense Counsel of San Antonio. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Bexar County Women’s Bar Association since 2016.  Amanda is also an alumna of the Leadership State Bar of Texas Program from the 2015-2016 class, which is a statewide program provided by the State Bar of Texas and the Texas Young Lawyer’s Association.

Amanda will receive the Belva Lockwood Award at the BCWB’s Annual Autumn Affair Gala on October 19, 2017. For more information, please visit the BCWB.
