Jackson Walker is pleased to announce San Antonio associate Josué Galván has been appointed to the Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA) Board of Directors, District 18, Place 1. As a District 18 director, Josué will represent the Austin, Bexar, Burleson, Colorado, Comal, Dewitt, Fayette, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Karnes, Lavaca, Lee, Waller, Washington, and Wilson counties.
In addition to serving on the Board of Directors, Josué will serve on three TYLA committees where he will work on setting standards and selecting recipients for law school scholarships, and creating a job interview guide for law students.
“To serve on the Board of Directors for the Texas Young Lawyers Association is an honor. I look forward to working with my fellow directors and committee members to advance TYLA’s work as the public service arm of the State Bar,” Josué said.

Organized in 1930, TYLA is a department of the State Bar of Texas dedicated to facilitating the administration of justice, fostering respect for the law, and advancing the legal profession’s role in serving the public. TYLA comprises more than 27,000 Bar members who are either 36 years old or younger or in their first five years of practice, regardless of age.
The TYLA Board comprises an Executive Committee, directors, and liaisons. The 34 Directors represent 21 districts from around the state. Directors are nominated and elected by district constituents and serve two-year terms.
The State Bar of Texas is the fifth largest organization of attorneys in the nation. The Texas Bar is committed to improving and advancing the quality of legal services to the public, protecting the public through the discipline system, and fostering integrity and ethical conduct in the legal profession.

Meet Josué
Josué J. Galván is a Trial & Appellate Litigation associate in Jackson Walker’s San Antonio office. Josué’s state and federal court experience spans a wide range of litigation matters, including insurance disputes, construction litigation, financial services litigation, and products liability litigation. In 2019, Josué was named to San Antonio Scene’s “Best S.A. Lawyers” list for Business Litigation. He is a member of the 2018-2019 class of LeadershipSBOT, which is designed to increase diverse leadership participation within the legal community through nominating attorneys who possess both the desire and the potential to assume leadership roles in their communities and the State Bar of Texas.
