Emilio Nicolas Speaks on Entertainment Contracts from the Litigator’s Perspective, & Insurance for Film & Television Productions

Jackson Walker associate Emilio B. Nicolas spoke at the 22nd Annual Entertainment Law Institute on Oct. 26, 2012, in Austin, Texas.

Mr. Nicolas participated in two panel discussions: “Today’s Contract, Tomorrow’s Lawsuit, Entertainment Contracts from the Litigator’s Perspective;” and “Covering Your Bases — The Producer’s Film and Television Insurance Checklist.” The two-day event aimed to educate attendees on current topics in entertainment law, such as how to build an entertainment law practice and information on reality television program production, to name a few. Mr. Nicolas represents a variety of domestic and international clients on matters involving entertainment, media and intellectual property. His practice includes intellectual property and general commercial litigation, entertainment and media transactions, and intellectual property rights management. Mr. Nicolas received his B.S. degree in business administration from Trinity University; his M.S. degree in media management from Syracuse University S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications; and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from the Syracuse University College of Law, where he was a member of the Justinian Honorary Law Society and the Syracuse University College of Law Student Senate. He is admitted to practice in Texas and New York, and has been named a “Rising Star” by Thomson Reuters.
