April Vasquez Leibman Represents Group 1 Automotive in Sale of Beaumont Dealerships

February 20, 2024 | Client Results

Hot on the heels of announcing plans to relocate its headquarters to the newly developed Town Centre Two, Houston-based automotive dealer Group 1 Automotive, Inc. entered into an agreement with Doggett Industries to sell six dealerships and collision repair centers located in Beaumont, Texas.

As part of the transaction, Doggett Industries expanded its Automotive Group. In turn, the capital gained as part of the sale will allow Group 1 to focus on expanding its footprint across the United States while remaining strongly grounded in its future headquarters at Town Centre Two in Houston. Since its initial public offering in 1997, Group 1 has become a leading operator in the automotive retail industry. The company currently owns and operates nearly 200 automotive dealerships, over 260 franchises, and over 40 collision centers in the United States and the United Kingdom, including 70 locations in Texas alone.

“We are proud to have successfully represented Group 1 Automotive in this complex transaction,” said Houston partner April Vasquez Leibman, who led the transaction with assistance from associate Mahira Khan. “As Group 1 continues to grow, we look forward to partnering with them to help them achieve their goals in Texas.”
