‘Texas Lawyer’ Honors Byron Egan With Lifetime Achievement Award

In a recent profile by Texas Lawyer, Byron provided insights about the ever-evolving legal industry, including what has changed, where it has remained the same, and how young attorneys can achieve success.

“Listen to your clients and colleagues,” Byron advises young attorneys. “Recognize that the law is a demanding mistress and be prepared to spend the time needed to be ­excellent.”

Meet Byron

Dallas partner Byron F. Egan is experienced in business entity formation and governance matters, M&A, and financing transactions in a wide variety of industries, including energy, entertainment, financial, insurance, restaurant, and technology. In addition to handling transactions, he advises boards of directors and their audit, compensation, and special committees with respect to fiduciary duties and other corporate governance issues, including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and special investigations. Byron is the only attorney to have received the Burton Award for Legal Achievement four times and is consistently recognized among the top corporate and M&A lawyers in Texas by a number of publications. Recently, he was recognized with the Highland Park Independent School District Distinguished Alumni Award. Also, in 2015, Byron received the Dan Rugeley Price Memorial Award, which is presented annually by the Texas Bar Foundation to a lawyer who has demonstrated an unreserved commitment to clients and to the legal profession.
