Jackson Walker represented MCM Energy Partners in connection with its acquisition of upstream oil and natural gas assets in the Southern Delaware Basin from Battalion Oil Corporation. The transaction closed in February 2026 and supports MCM’s strategy to build a scaled, multi-bench development platform in the Permian Basin.
The acquired assets include approximately 6,207 net acres located in the West Quito Draw area of Ward County, Texas. The transaction expands MCM’s footprint and adds established production, operated inventory, and development upside to the company’s existing operations in Ward County.
In connection with the acquisition, Jackson Walker also represented MCM in entering a new senior secured credit facility with Valor Upstream Credit Partners II, L.P., a credit fund managed by Breakwall Capital LP.
The Jackson Walker team included Energy partners Brandon Durrett and Jesse Lotay; Corporate & Securities partner Art Cavazos, senior counsel Roderick Faulk, and associates Daniel Maldonado and Peyton Fulgium; and Trial & Appellate Litigation associate Jared DeFelice.
