Jackson Walker Houston partners Kelly D. Cobb and Sang M. Shin are scheduled to present at the 22nd Annual Course for Advanced Immigration Law, hosted by the TexasBarCLE. Taking place from February 1-2, 2024, at the Omni Houston Hotel, the event promises attendees a comprehensive understanding of the latest updates and trends, along with effective strategies for navigating the challenges posed by advanced immigration law.

Kelly Cobb, a member of the course planning committee, will join her co-speaker in delivering insights on H2-As & H2-Bs and exploring the nuances and complexities surrounding the visa categories.

Meanwhile, Sang Shin and his co-speaker will cover the latest developments in National Interest Waivers, offering effective strategies for handling exceptional cases, particularly in STEM fields, and providing guidance on effectively navigating complex RFEs.

Meet Kelly

Kelly D. Cobb’s practice primarily focuses on U.S. corporate immigration law, including applications/petitions for all visa categories and paths to U.S. permanent residence and naturalization. She offers experienced counsel related to navigating the intricacies of ever-changing laws, regulations, and government processes in Immigration law. Kelly has in-depth experience working within Houston’s international energy sector, primarily focusing on large-volume corporate immigration, including management of both U.S. immigration and global migration. Kelly works closely with the U.S. Coast Guard to obtain clearance for foreign vessels and foreign workers engaging in energy exploration on the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf.

Meet Sang

Sang M. Shin is a business immigration attorney with broad experience managing immigration matters for companies, individuals, investors, and institutions through the U.S. and internationally. Sang handles a wide range of nonimmigrant visas and petitions, and also provides advanced and strategic advice to clients on a variety of immigrant visas and labor certification (PERM). Sang also helps foreign companies with their U.S. market entry, growth and expansion efforts as they enter the United States by serving as outside counsel to their various legal needs.
