Jackson Walker proudly congratulates Denise Rose on receiving the first-ever Pink Granite Supporter of Women Award in honor of her work at the Texas Capitol and her service to the community.
Founded in 2017, Pink Granite is a nonpartisan community for women who work in Texas politics and public policy to support one another.
In presenting Denise with the award, Hope Osborn, founding board member of the Pink Granite Foundation, said, “She is a champion for every woman and will only ever say good things about you, behind your back, and to your face. Everyone should aspire to be a D Rose.”
For nearly two decades, Denise has worked in and around the Texas Capitol, providing counsel to clients on Medicaid and hospital finance, special utility districts, occupational licensing, healthcare quality, and agency rulemaking processes and requests for proposals. In recognition of her work at the Capitol, Denise was elevated to the list of “Hired Guns” in the 2021 “Texas Lobby Power Rankings” from Capitol Inside, ranking No. 56 among the top lobbyists in the state.
Outside of her practice, Denise serves on the Board of Directors and Women of Courage Committee of the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas. She also volunteers her time with the Wine and Food Foundation of Texas, Dress for Success Austin, Mobile Loaves and Fishes, and GENAustin.
In an interview with Nelda Hunter on the Pink Granite Podcast last year, Denise noted, “I think we’re all competitive by nature—that’s how we end up in these kinds of jobs. But you can still be successful and be someone who is an encourager and cheerleader of women. I really, really strongly believe that.”
