Biography
Matt Johnson is an attorney in the litigation section of Jackson Walker’s Dallas office. He was a summer associate at the Firm in 2020.
During law school, Matt was an active member of the Baylor Law Mock Trial team and Baylor Law Review, and was a co-captain of Baylor’s 2021 American Association for Justice mock trial team. As a result, Matt was awarded the R. Jack Ayres Advanced Trial Advocacy Award and the Ty Drury Excellence in Mock Trial award from the faculty at Baylor Law School.
Prior to law school, he served as a summer financial analyst for the energy corporate banking group of one of the largest banks in the country.
Matt is an Eagle Scout.

Working alongside Brittany Barnett and the Buried Alive Project, a Jackson Walker team led by Edwin Buffmire sought a reduction in the life sentence of Ray Charles Fields, who received a mandatory life sentence in 1994 for nonviolent drug-related crimes.
