Jackson Walker proudly congratulates Baker Howry on her election to the Board of Directors of the Houston Young Lawyers Association (HYLA) for the 2025-26 bar year.

In addition to her election as a Director to the HYLA Board, Baker has also been selected as a member of the Houston Young Lawyers Foundation (HYLF) Fellows Class of 2025. As the charitable arm of HYLA, HYLF recognizes only 1% of HYLA members as Fellows, based on their exemplary personal commitment to Houston’s young lawyers and the cause of justice.

HYLA, originally established in 1937 as the Houston Junior Bar Association, is composed of a diverse group of lawyers in their first twelve years of practice, as well as law students. Each year, HYLA offers its members a wide range of social networking events, CLE opportunities, and avenues for leadership and volunteer service. HYLA is known for its longstanding tradition of community involvement and leadership within the Houston legal community.

Founded in 1992, the HYLF’s mission is to improve the quality and availability of legal aid, health, human welfare, and education services provided by nonprofit organizations in Greater Houston. The Foundation accomplishes this through targeted volunteering, grants, and by fostering leadership capacity among young lawyers, encouraging a deeper appreciation for giving back to the community.

Meet Baker

Baker Howry is an attorney in the Healthcare & Life Sciences practice of Jackson Walker’s Houston office. She focuses her practice on providing comprehensive legal services to a broad spectrum of clients, from large healthcare providers to small family-owned businesses. Baker has experience in a wide range of issues, including healthcare regulatory and compliance matters as well as civil litigation and healthcare and securities fraud investigations. In recognition of her practice, Baker has been named “Ones to Watch” in the area of Appellate Practice by The Best Lawyers in America.
