Biography
Cullen McDonald is an associate in the Trial & Appellate section of Jackson Walker’s Houston office. Cullen is a skilled trial lawyer with a strong track record of handling a wide range of plaintiffs’ cases, including construction defects, deceptive trade practices, premises liability, and catastrophic personal injury matters.
With extensive experience in taking and defending depositions, Cullen has successfully assisted on and settled numerous cases totaling over $1 million in his first year of practice alone. Notably, he served as second chair in a significant $53.3 million judgment on a triple-fatality oilfield explosion case in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
In addition to his courtroom experience, Cullen has drafted briefs for various appellate courts, including the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Texas, and the Texas Ninth Court of Appeals. During his time in law school, Cullen served as an intern to U.S. District Court Judge Shelly Dick, where he provided valuable assistance to term clerks and conducted extensive legal research on a diverse range of topics, from federal employment law to maritime personal injury and marine finance, demonstrating his versatility and legal knowledge.
