R. Thomas Groves, Jr.
Tom concentrates his practice in the areas of estate and wealth transfer planning, estate administration, trust administration and guardianships. Tom works with individuals, couples and families in developing, documenting and implementing a wide range of basic and sophisticated estate and wealth transfer plans, including cross-border planning for persons who are not U.S. citizens or domiciliaries. Tom also represents and advises executors, administrators, guardians and trustees in administering estates and trusts, including contested matters, and represents and advises beneficiaries and third parties such as creditors regarding their rights and interests in estates and trusts.
During his more than 40 years of practice, Tom has realized that in providing estate and wealth planning services for his clients, each client must be recognized as being unique and he endeavors to recommend and help implement plans that are addressed to the client’s own goals and objectives and his or her personal family and financial situation. For Tom, the most important times that he spends during his consultations with clients is when he is listening to his clients.
