Biography
Yenmi Tang is an attorney in Jackson Walker’s Houston office with experience in numerous types of employment-based immigration matters. In her practice, Yenmi works closely with clients  on non-immigrant visas (H-1B, H1B1, E-2, E-3, L-1, O-1, TN), immigrant visas (EB-1A, EB1-C, EB-2, EB-3, and EB-5), and labor certifications (PERM) for numerous occupations. Yenmi has notable experience advising foreign nationals with their EB-1A, National Interest Waiver, and EB-5 investor petitions to assist clients in obtaining lawful permanent resident status in the United States.
Yenmi was a summer associate at Jackson Walker in 2017 and 2018.
Yenmi also served as a judicial intern to the Hon. David Hittner of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. While with the Southern District, Yenmi honed her skills in and around the courtroom by researching legal issues and drafting orders related to the RICO Act; reviewing motions, pleadings, and memoranda to verify case law citations; and observing courtroom proceedings for civil and criminal cases.

Presidential Proclamation Halts Foreign Student Visas at Harvard University

On June 4, 2025, President Trump issued a Presidential Proclamation that restricts the issuance of foreign student visas at Harvard University. Following this action, Secretary of State Marco Rubio directed U.S. embassies and consulates to halt the scheduling of new interview appointments for F, M, and J visas.

The United States has announced a new set of travel restrictions targeting nationals from 19 countries, with full entry bans imposed on 12 nations and partial restrictions on 7 others. The policy, set to take effect on June 9, 2025, is part of a broader initiative to tighten immigration controls.

On January 20 and 21, 2025, President Trump declared a national emergency and issued several executive orders on immigration. The Declaration and Executive Orders address “enhanced vetting” of visa applicants, birthright citizenship, border security, the U.S.‑Mexico-Canada Agreement, asylum, and refugee program.
