Jackson Walker served as legal counsel to Tarrytown Expocare in securing an investment from Chicago-based healthcare private equity firm Sheridan Capital Partners for an undisclosed amount. In addition, Tarrytown Expocare’s founder and management team have retained a meaningful ownership stake in the business.

Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Austin, Texas, Tarrytown Expocare is a national long-term care pharmacy that provides prescription medication to patients primarily residing in group homes and offers clinical administrative services to its facility partners.

In a January 7, 2020, announcement, Sean Dempsey, a Partner at Sheridan Capital Partners, said that Tarrytown Expocare “has grown significantly due to the team’s IDD [intellectual and developmental disabilities] domain expertise and patient-first philosophy, its streamlined operations and distribution processes, and value-added services offered to its IDD group home providers.”

Mark Newberry, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tarrytown Expocare, noted: “Through Sheridan’s investment, we foresee accelerated growth and even better service to individuals and group home providers. The history of trust in Brad Knippa and the Jackson Walker team and the effective counsel they provided were essential to the success of this transaction. We look forward to leveraging Jackson Walker’s legal insights and experience as we navigate our future growth.”
